Open Source Money?

This is a thought provoking history on currency, credit and our economic system… from a coder’s perspective…

You could not have picked a more perfect time to introduce (or digg) this concept. Frankly the currencies in use are based on faith and the valuations they provide – they depend on everything from supply and demand, interest rates, economic activities, prosperity (or lack thereof), and purchasing power.

Now introducing a concept of Open Source Money at a time when the financial system is peering over the ledge is an interesting concept. Open Source tips the balance and away from those with (too much) power to a more egalitarian or utopian society.
